This is Dotty Dove

I'm sorry – I haven't introduced you to Dotty yet!

Everyone, this is Dotty Dove.

IMG_1714 Hi, Dotty!

Dotty is a Mourning Dove.

She and her friends have been Cantina onlookers since its inception – always gossiping about the Cantina entertainment – but didn't start coming in as customers until last May. (I know, again, I'm sorry I haven't introduced you 'til now).

At first it was the occasional drink, but then she started getting comfortable with the regulars

IMG_3890 So, you come here often?

Now, she's bringing her friends.

Some fun facts about Dotty:

In addition to her polka-dot ensemble, she rocks turquoise eyeliner.

IMG_1712 I'm a trendsetter.

She inadvertently blocks the solar fountain with her tail.

IMG_0453 Oh, I thought it was a bidet.

She likes to wash under her wings. First, the left. Then the right.

Now where is my Dove soap...

I always know when Dotty's coming and going from the Cantina because her wings make a whistle. So do all Mourning Doves; it's a mechanism to help scare off predators.

She's a bit clumsy, and takes up all the space at the bar, but she's a nice customer.

IMG_4200 Yes, you.

I'm happy she got around to flocking into the Cantina.

IMG_4301 And so is she. Here she is feeling quite comfortable.

IMG_4356 After dinner, she likes to watch the sunset. She thinks the bar is her roost.

IMG_4385 I didn't expect rain today.

IMG_8978 Dotty, you have some seed on your beak.
