The Adventures of Wilma Woodpecker
We had a surprise guest at the Cantina today! Well, at least she tried to be a guest. BJ was a most needlessly hostile bouncer.
Say hello to Wilma Woodpecker!
Hi, Wilma!
Wilma is an Acorn Woodpecker. She primarily eats acorns, but couldn't pass up the gourmet seed menu at the Cantina.
BJ chased her out, but she stayed close. She went up into the neighbor's tree and kept an eye out for BJ.
If I'm not looking that way, he won't see me.
She lain high for a while until BJ went on to other business. Then, when BJ wasn't looking, she swooped in to seize her seed swiping opportunity.
Hah! Hah!
She stopped at BJ's lookout – just above the Cantina.
I got this. It'll be a piece of peanut.
Then, flew in for the meal.
She made it to the Cantina.
But just at the moment she landed, BJ came out of hiding in the vine and started a bar fight.
It was like a lightsaber duel.
BJ won the fight, but Wilma was not defeated. She stayed close on the wire.
You won't see the last of me, BJ!
I've got to think of a plan.
Meanwhile, Hawk was on his lookout watching the whole event unfold.
I should really have a bag of microwaveable mice for this.
Update 11/29: I've spotted Wilma on the lookout above the Cantina twice since her battles with BJ! BJ-the-wannabe-bouncer should really just add her to the VIP list.
