Neon the Lizard With a Neon Blue Tail
This morning, I was sweeping seed husks, getting ready for Cantina opening, when I moved some empty pots and saw a bright, neon blue line whipping around and skittering away from me.
I couldn't believe I was seeing something that bright – it looked like a hair tie – moving! I realized it was alive.
It went behind a piece of wood. Curious, I slowly moved the wood and had my camera ready.
I just got his tail slithering through the escape gap in the fence.
Neon is his name
It turns out, he is a Western Skink, and he's only just a teenager. Western Skinks are lizards with bright blue tails that fade as they mature into adults.
Looks like you're not the only blue critter in town, BJ!
What a pity.
I'm happy that you call the Courtyard home, Neon.
