I chased raptors, but saw butterflies

On my garden patrol this morning, I saw two birds with a super wide wingspan circling the sky where Hawk hunts. But they weren't Hawks. I ran inside to get my camera, and when I came back out, they were gone.

But in that same moment, a beautiful butterfly fluttered right by me.

I followed her to the native garden...

... and was amazed to see another butterfly!

There are many types of Swallowtail butterflies, but I think she is Anise.

You might see something beautiful when you don't find what you were looking for.
